"Plenty of customization, but expect some tinkering"
bmc has been solid for us because there’s a lot you can customize, especially with workflows and dashboards, which is nice when you have specific ways your team likes to do things. It did take a while to get everything set up though, mostly because some of the settings aren’t exactly obvious and I found myself clicking around, trying something, realizing it wasn’t quite right, then backing up and trying again. A little annoying in the moment, but once we got it dialed in, it actually worked well and felt worth the effort

"Helpful training that just felt easy to use"
I used bmc.com for some product training, it worked well for me. My first impression was that it felt straightforward, which is usually a good sign. The videos and docs were easy to find, and whenever something didn’t fully click, I could just go back and review it. It’s not flashy or anything, but my gut feeling was that it was set up in a practical way, and it definitely saved me time

I mainly use bmc.com tools for reporting and analytics, and yeah, it’s been kind of a mixed experience. There’s definitely useful data in there, but getting to it is another story sometimes...

Setting up reports takes longer than I expected, and the filters can feel awkward. Dashboards also don’t always load as quickly as I’d like, and exporting reports is just not as smooth as it should be, especially when I’m trying to get something done quickly.
Support has been okay when I’ve needed help, but I still end up spending too much time double-checking things or fixing reports manually. For what it costs, I expected the analytics side to feel easier, or at least a little more polished...

"I was a little nervous about upgrading..."
I was a little nervous about upgrading because I didn’t want it turning into some expensive headache, but it actually went smoothly. The migration was simple overall, and when we hit a snag, support got back to us quickly and helped us sort it out. For what we paid, I’m happy with how it went

"Good for keeping changes organized, but it could be smoother"
BMC has definitely helped us keep change requests more organized, and it’s much easier now to see where approvals stand. For the basics, it does what we need it to do. That said, getting it set up felt a little heavier than I expected, and there are a few parts of the process that take more clicks than they probably should. The reporting is helpful, but customizing it isn’t always as straightforward as I’d like. Overall, I’d say it’s a solid tool and I’m glad we have it, but for everyday use, I wish it felt a bit more streamlined.

"I really liked that the pricing was easy..."
I really liked that the pricing was easy to get from the start, no weird surprise fees popping up later or anything. It just made comparing the different options so much easier, especially when I was trying to decide between them and, yeah, it saved me a lot of back and forth.

"Getting workflows set up was... an experience"
I tried using BMC for workflow automation, and let’s just say the setup wasn’t exactly smooth. It felt clunky, and support took their sweet time getting back to me. To be fair, it does work occasionally, which is nice, I guess. But for the amount of effort it takes, I’m not sure it’s really worth the hassle.

"Pretty solid for keeping up with tickets"
I figured BMC would be decent for ticket tracking, and for the most part, it is. It helps our team keep things organized and stay on top of what needs to get done. It can be a little slow sometimes, which I kind of expected with tools like this, but overall it gets the job done

"A bit of setup patience, but it works well"
Once I got everything set up, it’s been working really well. The setup wasn’t exactly plug-and-play for me and took a little patience, but support was helpful. They basically said something like, “Try this step first, then restart and check the connection,” which got me moving in the right direction. After that, it’s been solid.

We use bmc and it handle more users and data well, so I’d say the scaling is decent. But when things grow bigger, the setup and tuning started feels more complicated than I expected. It’s not bad overall, just needed more effort than I was hoping for.

"Docs got me unstuck fast"
I was expecting to waste a bunch of time hunting around, but the BMC docs actually got me to the fix quickly. Some of the pages are a bit dry, sure, and I don’t have a ton of patience for digging through documentation, but they were clear enough and ended up being really useful.

"Cloud move was smoother than expected"
We used bmc.com when we were moving a few internal tools over to the cloud, and it was a lot less painful than I thought it would be. The setup pages were straightforward, and I didn’t feel like I had to keep digging through old emails or ping support every five minutes just to figure out the next step.

We did run into one small hiccup with access rules, but their team got back to us quickly. They pointed us to the right setting, and once we checked the details against our receipt and setup emails, it all made sense. Nothing turned into a big drawn-out issue.

Overall, it saved us time and made the deployment feel way less messy than these things usually do. I’d be comfortable using it again if we had another cloud migration coming up.

BMC has been okay for keeping track of our hardware and software assets, and the reporting is actually useful once everything is in place. I do think part of our frustration came from bad timing, since we rolled it out when things were already busy and nobody had much patience for a setup that took longer than expected. Some of the screens feel a bit dated and confusing too, so day-to-day use isn’t always as smooth as I’d like. It gets the job done, but it’s not the easiest tool to settle into.

"Still decent, but it used to feel like a better deal"
BMC still gets the job done for what we need, and the tools are generally solid. Support has been okay too, nothing terrible. That said, it feels like it used to be a better value. The pricing seems a little harder to justify now unless you’re really using a lot of the features. Overall it’s not bad, but for the money, I expected it to feel a bit more worthwhile.

"BMC has been reliable for us when..."
BMC has been reliable for us when it comes to incident management. Tracking tickets is straightforward, alerts don’t just disappear into the void, and tbh it’s helped our team react faster when something breaks.
I’m not giving it 5 stars because the setup took a while and a few screens were kinda confusing at first lol. Once everything was in place though, it’s been good for day-to-day use

We ran into an issue with our setup, and the BMC support guy was able to figure it out quickly. He gave clear answers, didn’t waste time with the usual runaround, and clearly understood the technical side of things. it was a relief to feel like we were in good hands.
